Founded in 2006 by Mr. Jayesh Megnani, and joined in partnership by Mr. Nikhil Darji in 2018, the Mumbai-based firm has steadily risen from humble beginnings to becoming a name synonymous with luxury, precision, and heart.
Their journey is not merely about structures, materials, or aesthetics—it is a tapestry woven with passion, perseverance, cultural sensitivity, and a deep understanding of human needs. Behind every wall, every texture, and every carefully curated detail, lies a story of vision, grit, and innovation.

ToggleThe Multifaceted Visionary: Jayesh Megnani
At the heart of 60 Degree Interior is Jayesh Megnani, a rare combination of four artistic disciplines—interior designer, Vastu expert, painter, and sculptor. His artistic journey began early, culminating in a professional stint with renowned conservation architect Vikas Dilawari, where he honed his skills in design with a historical and cultural sensitivity.
“Working with Vikas sir wasn’t just a job—it was an immersion into a philosophy of design that respected history, space, and the human spirit,” Jayesh recalls. But while many would have settled for a prestigious role under such a mentor, Jayesh felt the stirrings of entrepreneurship—a desire not just to design, but to build something of his own, something free-spirited yet grounded.
This calling for freedom, as he describes it, became the seed of 60 Degree Interior. “Freedom, to me, is not chaos; it’s about responsibility. I wanted to be responsible for my designs, my decisions, my outcomes,” he reflects. And so, in 2006, he embarked on his own journey, blending his multifaceted artistry into a business that promised creativity without compromise.
The Dynamic Partner: Nikhil Darji
In 2018, the firm welcomed a new force of energy with Nikhil Darji joining as a partner and principal designer. Armed with professional training in interior design and years of experience at an esteemed organization, Nikhil brought not just technical expertise but a flair for managing large spaces with a luxurious touch.
“He has an eye for scale and grandeur,” Jayesh shares. “Where I might get lost in details, Nikhil always sees the bigger picture.” Known for his punctuality, perseverance, and an eagle-eyed approach to on-site execution, Nikhil’s presence strengthened the firm’s capacity to handle diverse and ambitious projects.
Together, Jayesh and Nikhil form a balanced duo—one deeply intuitive and artistic, the other strategic and pragmatic. Their combined synergy elevated 60 Degree Interior from a local design firm to an international player, with projects extending from Mumbai to Qatar, Oman, and Switzerland.
From Indian Roots to Global Footprints
The firm’s trajectory was steady but determined. Their breakthrough international project came in Qatar in 2013, opening doors to a series of assignments across the Middle East and Europe. Today, 60 Degree Interior completes approximately 50,000 sq. ft of projects every year, catering to a clientele that ranges from high-end residences to commercial spaces seeking an identity beyond the ordinary.
Despite the global acclaim, their designs remain rooted in an ethos of Indian sensibility. “We are great admirers of Gothic architecture, but we specialize in a fusion—luxury modernism with ethnic undertones,” Nikhil explains. It’s a style that feels both contemporary and timeless, global yet personal.
At the core of their design philosophy is also Vastu Shastra, the ancient Indian science of spatial harmony. “Many clients come to us not just for beauty, but for balance,” Jayesh notes. “We strive to give them spaces that uplift their lives holistically—mentally, emotionally, energetically.” Yet, the firm ensures that Vastu compliance never compromises functionality or aesthetics—a delicate balance they have perfected over the years.
Challenges That Became Catalysts
No entrepreneurial journey is without its trials. For Jayesh and Nikhil, the biggest challenge lay in the dual demands of their industry—creativity on one side, and financial constraints on the other. “Clients want unique designs, but within budgets and timelines. That’s a tightrope every designer walks,” Nikhil admits.
Rather than being overwhelmed, they responded by creating robust systems—standardized processes for estimating, scheduling, project management, and even labour welfare. This structured approach didn’t just improve efficiency; it liberated creativity, ensuring no idea had to be compromised for lack of clarity or coordination.
“Over time, we realized that creativity thrives better within systems,” Jayesh smiles. “It’s ironic but true—the more organized we became, the more space we had to innovate.”
Beyond Business: A Social Conscience
60 Degree Interior’s impact extends beyond brick and mortar. Jayesh has been closely associated with the Indian Army’s welfare initiatives in Kashmir, Leh, and Ladakh, contributing to social projects that improve lives in these challenging terrains.
“Design, at its heart, is about improving environments—whether it’s a luxury home in Mumbai or a small community space in Leh,” Jayesh reflects. Their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects have included volunteering, donations, and community-centric design interventions in underserved regions.
A Home That Touched the Heart
When asked about a project closest to their hearts, both Jayesh and Nikhil light up as they recount a recent 2000 sq. ft. residence in Mumbai designed for a joint family spanning three generations.
“The challenge wasn’t just spatial—it was emotional,” Jayesh shares. “Each age group had different needs, comforts, aesthetics, and safety concerns.” They crafted a home that seamlessly catered to the elderly’s mobility, the children’s playful energy, and the adults’ functional requirements—without compromising on style.
The true reward came in the form of a heartfelt phone call from Mr. Manu Kumar R. Shah, the 96-year-old patriarch of the family. “He told us it was the most beautiful, thoughtful home he’d ever lived in. That meant the world to us,” Jayesh recalls with visible emotion.
A Future Steeped in Purpose
Looking ahead, **60 Degree Interior has set its sights on achieving a ₹60 crore turnover by 2027, but the vision extends beyond numbers. “We want to bring indigenous luxury into every Indian home,” Nikhil affirms. “Luxury doesn’t have to be imported—it can be born from our own culture, materials, and craftsmanship.”
Their future roadmap includes greater integration of sustainability and green practices. “Minimalism with elegance is not just a style—it’s a responsibility,” Jayesh emphasizes. They’re actively exploring eco-friendly materials, energy-efficient designs, and responsible sourcing, aligning with the global movement towards sustainable architecture.
Design as Psychology: The Human Factor
What sets 60 Degree Interior apart is not just their design language but their ability to understand client psychology. “Design is not just about what the client wants—it’s about understanding why they want it,” Nikhil explains. This depth of engagement leads to designs that feel intuitive, personalized, and emotionally resonant.
In an age where AI tools and visual discovery engines are redefining design processes, Jayesh offers a word of wisdom for the next generation: “Technology is powerful, but never underestimate the human touch. Memory, imagination, intuition—these are irreplaceable.”

Lessons from the Journey
Reflecting on nearly two decades in business, Jayesh shares a guiding principle inspired by the legendary Ludwig Mies van der Rohe: “God is in the details.” For 60 Degree Interior, success has come not from grand gestures, but from consistently delivering small perfections—in timelines, budgets, craftsmanship, and care.
Their message to budding designers? Passion, Perseverance, Creativity, and Communication—PPCC. “These aren’t just buzzwords; they’re survival skills,” Jayesh laughs. “And above all, keep your mind open, your hands working, and your heart humble.”
A Name Synonymous with Integrity
As 60 Degree Interior steps into its next chapter, one thing is clear: this is a firm that builds more than beautiful spaces—it builds trust, connections, and legacies. Their story is a testament to how design, when done with empathy and excellence, can transform not just homes but lives.
And in every project they touch, one finds not just design, but a soul that whispers elegance, purpose, and belonging—true to their name, always looking at spaces from every angle, every degree.
