Founded in December 2016 in New Delhi, ECDS Private Limited has established itself as a pioneer in industrial transformation, blending international innovation with Indian execution. Led by Rajesh Bhardwaj, Sonia Bhardwaj, Wooseok Chung, Bogon Kim, and Jongcheol Jeong, the company has grown into a platform that not only delivers business success but also drives societal impact. With a turnover of USD 15 million today, ECDS reflects how vision and resilience can create both economic and social value.
For Rajesh Bhardwaj, one of the company’s co-founders, entrepreneurship has always been about solving real problems. An electrical engineer by profession, with over 24 years of global experience across energy, renewables, cleantech, and industrial projects, Rajesh has contributed to major initiatives including airports, smart cities, railways, and even the Olympic Games. He holds a Six Sigma Green Belt and Level 2 Security Clearance from UT Battelle/ORNL in the USA. Having successfully established seven startups prior to ECDS, his leadership combines technical expertise with strategic foresight.
ECDS stands apart for its collaborative model. Rather than importing technology, it builds equal-share joint ventures with international innovators, particularly from Korea, to co-create solutions tailored for India. This approach has led to impactful projects across diverse sectors. In clean technology, through partners TN Solution and CXP, ECDS has introduced nano fiber meshes for windows, CO₂-absorbing fiber trees, advanced air filters, and alternatives to plastics. In healthcare, its partnership with Cubebio has resulted in a revolutionary urine-based cancer screening kit that is affordable, non-invasive, and potentially life-saving. In artificial intelligence, working with Aery, the company has deployed AI-powered crowd management systems and sign-language interpretation tools that make cities safer and more inclusive.

Beyond technology, ECDS invests heavily in workforce development. Its Skilled Development Centers (SDCs) are designed to upskill Indian youth in manufacturing, aviation, AI, and healthcare, ensuring the country’s young population is equipped for the industries of tomorrow. These hubs are not only creating jobs but also building long-term competitiveness for India on the global stage.
The impact of ECDS extends across markets and society. By creating R&D facilities, factories, and training hubs, the company generates employment across engineering, healthcare, and IT. It exposes Indian professionals to international standards while simultaneously providing Korean and global companies with a reliable partner in India. In turn, India becomes a strategic launchpad for these firms into the Middle East. Cleaner technologies, affordable healthcare diagnostics, and skill development initiatives have positioned ECDS as both a business innovator and a societal catalyst.
Like all entrepreneurial journeys, the path was not without challenges. Transitioning from a service career to entrepreneurship brought difficulties in decision-making, and access to capital was a constant struggle in the early years. Yet these challenges helped shape the company’s guiding principles: promise less and deliver more, maintain financial discipline, aim for long-term impact rather than short-term wins, and earn customer trust through service rather than marketing.
Looking ahead, ECDS has ambitious plans. By 2027, it aims to be listed on the Indian Stock Exchange, followed by Nasdaq by 2030. It also envisions establishing 10,000 micro and 100 medium-scale Skilled Development Centers across India, a move that could unlock unprecedented opportunities for the country’s youth while accelerating industrial growth.
Rajesh Bhardwaj’s advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is straightforward yet powerful: “Aim high, work harder, and stay focused. Success comes from continuous learning and the courage to solve problems that matter.”
ECDS today represents what modern entrepreneurship should be—visionary leadership, collaborative innovation, and a deep commitment to impact. By combining global expertise with Indian strengths, the company is redefining industries, empowering people, and preparing the nation for a sustainable, technology-driven future.
