From Highways to Platforms: How TrucksUp Is Reshaping India’s Trucking Reality

India’s trucking sector is the unseen force that sustains commerce, industry, and everyday life. Yet, for decades, the ecosystem supporting truck owners has remained informal and fragmented. Small fleet operators, who form the majority of the industry, have often been left to navigate uncertainty around load availability, pricing, and operational services. Sarthak Elwadhi, Founder of TrucksUp, recognised this imbalance and set out to build a platform that brings order, efficiency, and confidence to India’s trucking backbone.

Sarthak’s understanding of logistics was shaped early by exposure to both Indian and international markets. This dual perspective highlighted a critical gap—while global logistics relied on structured digital platforms, India’s trucking operations depended heavily on middlemen and manual coordination. During his college years, this observation evolved into a clear entrepreneurial intent: to use technology to simplify trucking operations for small fleet owners.

Before formalising TrucksUp, Sarthak spent extensive time engaging directly with truck owners and drivers across highways, transport hubs, and loading points. These interactions revealed a consistent insight. The issue was not lack of work, but lack of visibility. Truckers struggled with idle time, empty return trips, and fragmented access to essential services. Information asymmetry often forced them into unfavourable deals, impacting earnings and stability.

Launched in 2022, TrucksUp was designed as an integrated digital ecosystem tailored specifically for truck owners. The platform combines load discovery with value-added services such as FASTag, fuel cards, GPS tracking, insurance, financing, SIM-based tracking, and truck buying and selling. By consolidating these services under one platform, TrucksUp reduces dependency on intermediaries and enables informed decision-making.

The platform’s growth reflects its relevance. With over 4 lakh downloads, 45,000+ monthly active users, and partnerships with 21+ service providers, TrucksUp has emerged as a fast-scaling logistics technology solution. Its impact extends beyond numbers—by reducing empty miles and improving asset utilisation, it directly enhances income predictability for small fleet owners.

Building TrucksUp came with challenges inherent to transforming a traditional industry. Adoption of technology among truck owners required trust, education, and patience. Additionally, assembling a team that understood both software development and on-ground logistics proved complex. Sarthak addressed these challenges through hands-on leadership, continuous training, and constant engagement with users.

These experiences shaped his leadership philosophy. Sarthak believes that innovation must remain practical and user-centric. TrucksUp’s features are designed around real-world behaviour rather than assumptions, ensuring accessibility and relevance. Feedback loops with truck owners play a central role in product evolution, allowing the platform to grow organically alongside its users.

Inspiration for Sarthak comes from the values instilled by his family, particularly integrity, discipline, and resilience. These principles continue to guide TrucksUp’s long-term approach, where building trust is prioritised over rapid monetisation. The organisation’s culture reflects this belief, focusing on sustainable growth and responsible execution.

Looking ahead, TrucksUp aims to become a comprehensive end-to-end trucking ecosystem. Planned expansions include driver placement solutions, roadside assistance, GNSS-enabled FASTag systems, and complete truck lifecycle management. The objective is to support truck owners at every stage of their journey, from load acquisition to asset management.

Industry recognition through awards such as the International Icons of Excellence Award 2023, Best Brand 2024, and Logistics Shakti 2024 validates TrucksUp’s growing influence. For Sarthak Elwadhi, however, success is measured on the ground—by how many truck owners gain stability, transparency, and control over their livelihoods.

Through TrucksUp, Sarthak continues to demonstrate that when technology is built with empathy and execution insight, it can transform even the most traditional industries.
