He furthered his studies at Fravashi Academy Junior College, Nashik, for his HSC. His passion for architecture led him to pursue a B.Arch degree at Vidyavardhan’s IDEA: Institute of Design Environment and Architecture in Nashik. Kapil’s pursuit of knowledge didn’t stop there; he embarked on a journey to London, where he earned his Master’s in Construction Management from Anglia Ruskin University.
A Natural Calling: From a young age, Kapil exhibited a strong inclination towards the arts, whether it was singing, dancing, drawing, or mastering new skills. This creative flair naturally led him to architecture, a field that allowed him to blend his artistic sensibilities with problem-solving.
A Supportive Network: Kapil attributes much of his success to the unwavering support of his parents, particularly his father, who hails from a business background but encouraged Kapil to pursue his creative dreams. His uncles, Mr. Bhavesh and Sachin Thakkar, played pivotal roles as guiding lights throughout his journey.
The Early Days: Kapil’s career kick-started with stints at various builders in Nashik, where he honed his skills and gained practical experience. During his time pursuing his Master’s in London, he also freelanced as a designer, showcasing his dedication to the craft.
From Dream to Reality: After working for a year post-graduation, Kapil embarked on his entrepreneurial journey. Teaming up with a partner, he established his own firm, aptly named “Kapil Thakkar and Associates.” Through sheer determination, creativity, and a commitment to excellence, Kapil has grown his firm into a well-regarded architectural practice.
Outstanding Achievements: Kapil’s exceptional work has not gone unnoticed. His restaurant design, conceived during his early career, clinched the prestigious hospitality award at the WIDE AWARDS 2021. Additionally, his recent office building design secured the second prize in the office building category at the same awards.
The Road Ahead: With a creative mindset and a background in a business-oriented family, Kapil envisions a future where he can seamlessly merge his passion for design with real estate ventures. His ambition is to contribute to Nashik’s evolving skyline, shaping the city’s architectural landscape.
