Dr. Bhagirathi Nayak- Head (Information & Communication Technology)
An immensely diligent and experienced Educationist, Dr. Bhagirathi Nayak carries a rich 25 years of competency in teaching at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India. A highly result-oriented professional, Dr. Nayak owns an incredible expertise in the areas of Science and Engineering, Bioinformatics, Management, Database Designer and Developer, Teaching, Academic Administration and Pedagogical activities. The impeccable educator, Dr. Nayak has also been associated with Sri Sri University, Cuttack from August 2014.
The Head of Information & Communication Technology, Dr. Nayak has accomplished his graduation and post-graduation in Computer Science with first class. He has done Ph.D in Computer Science as well, with the topic ‘Data Mining Algorithms for Fuzzy Association Rules in Large Database’. His accomplishments go beyond, as 5 Ph.D scholars have already been awarded under his guidance and 6 Ph.D students are continuing under his impeccable guidance. The interest areas of Dr. Nayak lie in Big Data, Data Mining, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Dr. Nayak has been awarded with several laurels for his contribution to the education sector, few being:
Awarded by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Research Centre, for his immense contribution to Data Science, on 22nd July 2019, at Calcutta; Awarded with ‘Best Professor of Data Science in Odisha’ on 18th August 2018 at Bengaluru by ‘India Education Awards 2019’, and awarded with ‘Best Researcher Award’ on 15th September 2019 on Engineering Day by Odisha Technical Conclave 2019. He also bags the credit of achieving two International Patents in the area of Computers Science and Engineering.
His success stories motivate all and have been applauded big time. He has been invited at prestigious institutions like ‘IIT Chennai’, ‘IIT Mumbai’, ‘IIT Delhi’, ‘ISI Bengaluru’, ‘IIM Ahmedabad’, and ‘IIM Kashipur’, to name a few… The extensive researching competencies of Dr. Nayak made him publish 45 papers in International Journals, most of which are in Scopus and Thomson Reuter Indexing. He is a proud author of two books, published in ‘MacMillan Publishers’ and ‘Allied Publishers’, and has also authored two books of ‘Linux Operating Systems’ and ‘Information Security’ for Odisha State Open University.
Dr. Nayak has also accomplished several consultancy projects from ‘MHRD, Government of India’, ‘Bioinformatics, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India’, ‘Odisha Small Industry Corporation (OSIC), Cuttack’, and ‘Odisha Agro Industries Corporation Ltd.
