The Entrepreneurial Spark

For many entrepreneurs, the leap into business comes after years of planning, but for Akash Joshi, it was a moment of clarity shaped by his professional journey in sales and marketing. While working closely with manufacturing firms and distribution networks, he repeatedly noticed the same challenges—inefficient post-sales engagement, limited distribution visibility, and disconnected supply chain stakeholders. These gaps not only slowed businesses down but also kept them from realizing their full potential. In 2016, at just 30 years old, Akash decided to bridge this divide. With an initial capital of ₹5 lakhs, he launched IMAST Operations Private Limited in Indore, aiming to provide integrated SaaS solutions that would make businesses more efficient, customer-focused, and future-ready.

From Struggles to Breakthroughs

The early phase of IMAST was defined by challenges. Funding was tight, building a skilled team was not easy, and convincing clients to adopt a relatively new SaaS model required resilience. But Akash was undeterred. He knew that persistence, trust, and strong systems would form the foundation of long-term growth. Over time, those early hurdles became lessons. He focused on building relationships with clients, offering real value through practical solutions, and creating processes that could scale. This steady approach allowed IMAST to survive the early tests and emerge stronger with every milestone.

A Scalable SaaS Success

Today, IMAST is no longer just a startup—it is a ₹200 Cr valued company with a turnover of ₹20 Cr, over 100+ clients, and more than 300 employees. Its suite of solutions spans loyalty management, sales force automation (SFA), dealer management systems (DMS), and after-sales service automation. By offering real-time dashboards, customizable modules, and end-to-end ownership, IMAST has achieved an impressive 95% client retention rate, demonstrating both the trust it commands and the impact it delivers.

Driving Digital Transformation

At its core, IMAST is not just a software company—it is a growth enabler. Its solutions connect supply chain stakeholders on a single platform, giving businesses the visibility and efficiency they need to thrive in today’s competitive market. The results are tangible: stronger customer loyalty, streamlined sales operations, and better after-sales engagement. For Akash, this ability to create real-world impact through scalable technology is what defines IMAST’s purpose. By driving digital transformation, the company is not only helping businesses grow but also contributing to the modernization of India’s enterprise landscape.

A Philosophy of Persistence

Akash’s leadership philosophy can be summed up in three principles: systems drive scale, people drive loyalty, and persistence drives results. These values have guided him from the earliest days of his entrepreneurial journey and continue to shape IMAST’s culture. He believes in building businesses that are process-driven yet human-centered—where strong systems ensure scalability while empathy and relationships create long-term trust. This unique balance of emotional intelligence and process orientation has been a defining factor in his success as an entrepreneur.

Inspirations and Milestones

Akash credits much of his vision to his inspiration, Narayana Murthy, who built Infosys into a global enterprise while remaining deeply rooted in Indian values. For Akash, Murthy embodies the idea that Indian companies can succeed globally without losing their cultural foundation. Inspired by this belief, he envisions IMAST as a company that will lead India’s entry into the global SaaS export ecosystem. Along the way, his efforts have been recognized with several awards, including the India Business Excellence Award, StartUp 77 Recognition, and the Red FM Leadership Award—a testament to his impact on both business and leadership.

Looking Toward the Future

The next chapter for IMAST is one of global ambition. Having built a strong base in India, Akash is now focused on expanding internationally, positioning IMAST as a trusted SaaS partner for businesses around the world. His goal is not only to grow the company but also to showcase India’s capability in building world-class technology solutions. With innovation, scalability, and client impact at its core, IMAST is ready to compete on the global stage.

Words of Wisdom

For aspiring entrepreneurs, Akash offers straightforward but powerful advice: “Start small, think big, solve a real problem, and keep building value.” His own journey is proof that success does not require massive resources at the outset—it requires clarity, resilience, and the willingness to persist through challenges.

Conclusion

From a ₹5 lakh seed investment to a company valued at ₹200 Cr, Akash Joshi’s journey with IMAST is a powerful example of how determination, vision, and innovation can reshape industries. By building solutions that empower businesses and creating systems that scale, he has shown that entrepreneurship is not just about building a company—it is about building impact. As he takes IMAST toward global horizons, Akash stands as an inspiration for the next generation of Indian entrepreneurs, proving that with persistence and purpose, even the boldest dreams can be turned into reality.
