Being awarded as the most talented interior designer in Bangalore at India Icon Awards 2019, Durgesh Kumar Tripathi’s Alex Interio has reasons to celebrate the success. Quitting a job and starting his own venture wasn’t an easy decision but now it seems to be all worthy. Fascinated with the challenges of life, Durgesh always braved them to reach new heights. He left Delhi and landed in Bangalore to taste the success of entrepreneurship. It wasn’t easy though, but his persistence, hard work and customer focus garnered all the triumph.
With his team of designers, carpenters, painters and supervisors, he has successfully delivered over 35 projects in last 6 years that includes home interiors and commercial interiors. As a service provider, Durgesh has always treated client satisfaction above all, even if that warranted for less profit at his end. Creating interiors with great aesthetics has always been his professional objective, which he thrives to achieve.
Durgesh is highly indebted to Ravi Gaud, who has always inspired him to choose this field of work and help him understand the nitty-gritties. His late brother, Akhilesh Tripathi, has always been the motivating factor in this designing career. He encouraged Durgesh constantly through thick and thin.
No success comes without its share of struggle – Alex Interio too had to go through those initial hiccups. From bagging its first project to its execution, all came along with some baggage of challenges. When asked about those initial challenges, Durgesh recalls
“While drawings were generated through software, execution of the same got into a trouble. As a result certain units got damaged mounting to financial burns which I had to bear it all myself.”
Alex Interior’s prime motto has always been ‘client satisfaction’. Full commitment to work, timely completion and well co-ordination among team members have helped it gain client confidence and create delighted customers in India’s Silicon Valley. According to Durgesh, with infrastructure boost, the interior designing and decoration will bloom. There’s ample opportunity for the sector and with good word of mouth and marketing efforts, one can draw good number of projects for its success. On future opportunities he feels
“With the vision of Smart City, there would be colleges, institutes and hospitals constructed in the coming years. Thereby increasing the chance of interior designers to bag projects and create masterpieces.”
As a true professional, he has never compromised with the quality of his work and always given his best to the client as per commitment. Many a times he compromised on his profits but that eventually generated a happy client. Honesty, hard work and commitment has always been the recipe for his success. For Durgesh, it wasn’t easy for a family man to quit his job of teaching and chase his dream and desire to make it big in the interior designing sector. Without much clarity on the functioning of the sector, he simply took the risk of leaving his home town and shift to a new city to face the harsh reality of entrepreneurship.
