Reeling from his recent win for Best Digital Startup for Banking & Non-Banking Services at India Leadership Awards 2019, Abhishek Kumar Pandey, founder of Mobisafar Services Private Limited and his team are creating solutions to enable travelers a seamless experience.
Conceived and designed to provide comprehensive end-to-end solutions to the common man for Travel, Money Transfer and Payment services at a location close to them, Mobisafar offers multiple solutions to its customers under one roof. Mobisafar simplifies various needs of a customer relating to travel aimed at making choices based on price, comfort and convenience. Not only does Mobisafar enable its customers to plan their trip, booking of air / bus / train tickets, hotel, but also allows them to transfer money to any bank branch anywhere in India at any time, to do Mobile or DTH recharge, to make monthly payments for electricity, telephone, utility and credit card bills and to sell online non-life insurance policy for travel health and motor.
Having identified that more than 50% market in India had not yet been captured and ATM services in rural areas are still not available, Abhishek’s dream was to make travelling hassle free. Inspired by Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, Abhishek’s aim to create something larger than life is unmissable.
Commenting on his entrepreneurial journey, Abhishek says, “Building something of this stature takes not only a team, but also the right partners. This has been the biggest hurdle, but we are learning every day and overcoming our fears and obstacles, one step at a time.”
In a short span of 4 years, Mobisafar under the leadership of Abhishek, now has over 100 employees, has presence in over 2500 locations and has key tie ups with over 10 banks. Built on the belief that technology should not be restricted to the privileged, Mobisafar enables close to 5 lakh transactions every single day with a minimum ticket size that averages 2200 rupees each.
Investing his entire life’s savings on Mobisafar has so far been fruitful for Abhishek, and his tie up with over 138,000+ retailers spread all over India, his dream of expanding banking services to rural India and also to grow the nation seem to be taking form.
