Shahim Nisar Shah – Founder, KNOVATIC Group of Companies

Established in 2019, KNOVATIC Group of Companies was founded by Shahim Nisar Shah, who hails from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir is a Mechanical Engineering post graduate from Desh Baghat University in Punjab. Soon after, he started his career with a MNC named Sterlite Tech in 2015 and worked at different corporate levels across several corporate houses in India till 2019. But he had bigger dreams to pursue and didn’t restrict himself within corporate life only. According to him,

“I rather wanted to become a successful entrepreneur. So, I decided to incorporate my own company with the title KNOVATIC Group of Companies in the year 2019. Despite facing economic recession in Kashmir after abrogation of Article 370 and Covid 19 pandemic, KNOVATIC Group of Companies have found its spot among the largest service providers in the field of OFC laying, supply and installation of optical instruments, electric works & maintenance of optical fibre links, tower maintenance etc.”

The firm is also active in all sectors of construction and is largest empowered construction company in JK.

The NGO arm of KNOVATIC Group of Companies is known as KNOVATIC help foundation, which is an impartial aid & development organization working for eradicating poverty line, conflict, providing food among poor and working for boosting woman empowerment. It largely works for youth, women, children and other vulnerable groups. The NGO’s action and testimony are focused on responding to their essential needs, improving their living conditions and promoting respect for their economic and social dignity and their fundamental rights.

The main purpose of the NGO is to help poor people who are really in need of basic necessities. A donation is a gift for charity, humanitarian aid, or to benefit a cause. A donation may take various forms, including money, alms, services, or goods such as clothing, toys, food, or needy things. With the believe that access to nutritious food is a basic human right, they are committed to responding to the needs of the community through food distribution and support services. Therefore, it values respect, compassion and honesty in all interactions and activities.

KNOVATIC was started by Shahim at the age of 25 and is now a 87 lakh turnover company that is transforming the lives of many by providing digital connectivity with the aid of service innovations. It has genuinely changed the life of the inhabitants of Kashmir and Ladakh region. One of the major activity which they are engaged in is laying fibres in the remote and border areas of JK for Indian Defence Forces to detect and conquer threats and help in strengthening national security. Through application of latest cutting-edge technology, the company is able to provide uninterrupted connectivity even at high altitudes in harsh weather conditions.

Shahim states that while working with STC at border areas, he experienced very poor connectivity and was cut off from the world for that duration, then and there he realized that communication blockade is a very misfortunate thing in present time, hence decided to embark on a journey to provide connectivity to every remote corner. That’s how he turned entrepreneur. And, as of today OFC laying has tremendously tapped into the potential of certain zones, especially the northern and north eastern parts of India.

As an individual, Shahim like challenges and that gives him a different high altogether. That’s why he could work under challenging environmental conditions and succeed. He feels, there is a huge market out there that needs to be tapped, and requires young energy and innovative minds. Entrepreneurship is the new normal and can help build the nation. He has been continuing with his never give-up attitude and this particular trait has led to being honoured by FSIA (Forever Star India Awards) for social activism during covid 19 pandemic. He has also been honoured by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for being the key speaker in Cluster Level Sports Meet in 2022.
