Akhilesh Singh N. Dhandoriya
Akhilesh Singh N. Dhandoriya is a Robotics Trainer since 10 years. He finds himself fortunate for having an opportunity to see the future of our country in schools and colleges. This deep-felt thought eventually sparked his idea behind ‘Robotics for Next Generation Inspired by Tomorrow’.
He candidly shares, “I was called ‘Rancho’ as I have loved by my mantra – You can get my soul out of my body, but you can’t get Robotics out of my soul”.
His utter faith in the potential of application-based education keeps him fueled even after training more than 1.5 lakh students in the last decade in the remotest locations in Maharashtra. He is all the praises for energetic and positive responses of those young minds, which thereby strengthens his belief that knowledge is worthless if not shared. It was his curiosity and desire to help the young students, which encouraged him to embark on this journey.
He shares “When I started learning how to build a robot, I realized how long and expensive the process of collecting the right information and seeking guidance had been!” It was his will to know more, that kept him going through it well, but he doesn’t wish any other student to face the same problems that he did. He says that our students have tremendous potential, which need external help, and he desires to lend his all practical knowledge and experiences to help those who bear the enthusiasm for Robotics just like he does!
I believe that there is nothing more wonderful than the glimpse of joy in a student’s eye when he gets to know and finally assembles different parts of a robot for the first time.
He adores the true teacher our nation – ‘Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’ for his noble profession of teaching, and his highly inspired by his teaching which helped him during every step of his career. He believes Dr. Kalam’s creative thinking, humble nature and determination taught him how to live an honest life!
As an entrepreneur he faced many issues while adopting Robotics trainer as his career because most of the people assumed that Robotics doesn’t have a long scope in India. Spreading the awareness about Robotics and its utility in future had been a task for him and the negative attitude of people questioned his career choice time and again! He thinks the energy that should be harnessed into productive activities is wasted in convincing oneself. His decision of pursuing his passion instead of working as an engineer in some company, had been a bold step in his life, which he cannot be more thankful for! His burning desire, responsibilities and undying passion kept him grounded, motivated and realistic even in the face of adversity. As soon as he adapted Robotics Trainer as his profession, he indulged himself in understanding those approachable, easy to understand and affordable material as well as superficial teaching methods.
He says, “I feel that soon we can start teaching subjects like Robotics to young kids better because that’s the only way they will be ready for tomorrow’s world”.
During the last 10 years, he had gotten the chance to work, learn and evolve with students of different age-groups and socio-economic backgrounds. During that period, he also had to overcome the language barrier while teaching the basics of Robotics. This is his privilege that for his tremendous efforts, he was soon called ‘Drone-Acharya’. But this down to earth educator believes that the most valuable lesson he has learned during every day of teaching, is about the value of perseverance, which has made all the difference! He is such a person who turns up every day and doesn’t stop until the work is done! He believes focus keeps you on the right track and determination helps you take the next step. Be it career or personal life, perseverance is the most valued virtue for him…
