In a strategic move to enhance its offerings in the child-focused mental health space, Gurugram-based healthtech startup LISSUN has acquired US-based digital mental health company Being Cares Inc. The deal, which marks LISSUN’s foray into global markets, aims to address critical child-centric psychological issues using AI-powered tools and clinical expertise. Expanding into Child-Centric Psychological Care

LISSUN, which has steadily grown its reputation in the Indian mental health ecosystem, is now aiming to create an impact in a highly underserved segment—children’s mental and developmental health. Through this acquisition, LISSUN plans to expand its services to cater to conditions like autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech delays, and learning challenges.

These areas have traditionally lacked integrated care solutions, and LISSUN’s new capabilities—powered by AI from Being Cares—are expected to bridge the gap between early detection and comprehensive care. This initiative aligns with LISSUN’s vision of offering tech-enabled mental healthcare at scale.

Integration of Team and Technology

The acquisition is not just a technology transfer; it is also a strategic talent integration. Being Care’s co-founders, Varun Gandhi and Abhishek Sharma, have joined the LISSUN leadership team as Chief Product Officer and Chief Technology Officer, respectively. Their expertise in building scalable digital platforms for mental healthcare will play a pivotal role in shaping LISSUN’s next phase of growth.

LISSUN’s founder, Tarun Gupta, commented on the acquisition, saying:

“With Being’s AI and our clinical expertise, we are building a system that addresses families’ concerns from the very first signs, offers digital guidance, and seamlessly transitions into in-person care when needed.”

This approach reflects a hybrid care model—starting with digital screenings and interventions and progressing to personalized, human-led therapy sessions.

AI-Driven Early Intervention

One of the most promising aspects of this acquisition is the potential for early-stage diagnosis and intervention using artificial intelligence. The AI solutions developed by Being Cares are designed to help parents and caregivers identify early warning signs of mental and developmental disorders in children, enabling timely action. This can significantly improve outcomes for children who might otherwise be diagnosed late.

By integrating these capabilities into its existing framework, LISSUN aims to provide a scalable, affordable, and clinically reliable solution for families across India and potentially, global markets.

Future Roadmap

LISSUN’s expansion into the child mental health segment signals its commitment to becoming a comprehensive digital mental healthcare provider. With mental health challenges among children on the rise, especially in post-pandemic contexts, this acquisition positions LISSUN to lead innovation and impact in the sector.

As demand for specialized pediatric mental health services grows, LISSUN is poised to redefine early-stage mental health care through a combination of technology, clinical expertise, and personalized interventions.
