Motivation Behind the Business
My journey began in 2014 when I joined a reputed travel firm as a junior tour assistant. Despite clearing annual exams for the position of tour coordinator, I was repeatedly overlooked for promotions due to perceived shortcomings in my personality and physique. This disheartening experience fueled my determination to prove myself and led to the establishment of Mangela Tours and Travels. Leaving the firm the very next day, I decided to create a travel company that values dedication and skill over superficial attributes.
Inspiration and Professional Idol
My father has been my greatest inspiration. Working tirelessly in the film industry’s production department, he traveled extensively and demonstrated unparalleled dedication and perseverance. His commitment and hard work motivated me to start from scratch and build my business with the same zeal and dedication.
Challenges and Learning Experiences
Starting a business is never easy, and my journey was no exception. Initially, my family was against my decision to leave a stable job and start a business. Convincing them was the first hurdle. Securing initial clients was another challenge due to the fierce competition in the travel industry. I had to keep profit margins minimal to attract customers. Just as the business began to stabilize, the pandemic struck, bringing travel to a standstill. However, my resolve remained unshaken, and I used this time to strategize and plan for a stronger comeback.
