Nuthan Manohar’s journey to becoming a globally recognized expert in the fields of behavioral science, well-being, and mindfulness is not just one of professional success, but a story of personal transformation and unwavering passion. As the Founder and CEO of Me Met Me, Nuthan’s vision for wellness transcends traditional boundaries, blending ancient wisdom with modern science to create interventions that not only help individuals and communities overcome stress, anxiety, and burnout, but also thrive in a fast-paced, often overwhelming world.
Born and raised in India, Nuthan’s early life was characterized by a deep curiosity about human behavior, wellness, and psychology. Her academic pursuits were no different, as she earned an MBA and MSc in Yoga, along with credentials in Clinical Hypnotherapy, Bach Flower Remedies, and Systemic Constellation Facilitations. But despite her academic achievements, her true calling came after experiencing a personal health crisis in 2010.
In 2010, Nuthan was thrust into a dark phase of her life, battling severe depression, anxiety, insomnia, and various physical ailments. It was a period when she felt trapped in a seemingly unending cycle of mental and physical exhaustion. The turning point came when she was diagnosed with trench mouth, a stress-induced condition that wreaked havoc on her physical well-being. The affliction was so severe that it resembled the conditions soldiers experienced during World War I, highlighting how deeply stress had altered her body’s biochemistry.
What began as a physical ailment soon turned into a profound, internal awakening. Nuthan was fascinated by the question, “If my thoughts can mutate bacteria, what else can they do?” This curiosity led her down a path of intense self-exploration and research, combining her background in behavioral science and psychology with alternative mind-body practices like Yoga, Ayurveda, and hypnotherapy.
She began experimenting with different modalities to heal herself, and in doing so, she experienced a profound shift in both her mind and body. What began as a personal healing journey soon became a professional mission: to help others facing similar challenges. Nuthan was determined to find holistic, science-backed solutions that could help people overcome stress, burnout, and the emotional toll of modern-day living.
By 2013, Nuthan’s vision had crystallized, and Me Met Me was born. Her brainchild, rooted in her personal experiences, was designed to offer customizable well-being solutions that target the root causes of stress, burnout, and disconnection. From the very beginning, Nuthan aimed to create a brand that would revolutionize how wellness was approached. Rather than merely focusing on surface-level remedies, she wanted to delve deeper, combining behavioral science, neuroscience, and ancient traditions to craft interventions that truly made a difference.
Me Met Me focused on addressing the modern challenges of stress and burnout through innovative solutions that incorporated therapeutic perfumery, mindfulness practices, and behavioral interventions. The company’s approach wasn’t just about well-being in the traditional sense; it was about helping individuals rediscover themselves, heal, and live life more mindfully.
One of Nuthan’s flagship initiatives, The Happiness Project, offered ten-session interventions for students that helped them manage stress and improve their social relationships, ultimately aiming to prevent burnout and cultivate happiness. The results were nothing short of remarkable, with Me Met Me publishing findings in prestigious journals such as The Journal of The International Neuropsychological Society. The project became a model for integrating behavioral science and mindfulness techniques to improve mental health on a large scale.
Nuthan’s personal triumphs over mental health challenges and her academic credentials laid a strong foundation for her career as a well-being entrepreneur. Her work became increasingly recognized, and she went on to collaborate with leading organizations and institutions. From being a two-time TEDx speaker to consulting for global brands like LinkedIn and the Discovery Channel, Nuthan quickly became an authoritative figure in the wellness space.
In 2023, Nuthan relocated to the Netherlands to expand her work internationally. The shift to Europe came after years of successfully running her well-being initiatives in India, where she had created a lasting impact on both individuals and communities. Now, in the Netherlands, she is focusing on helping corporate clients battle the rising rates of burnout.
Burnout is a significant issue in many countries, especially in the Netherlands, where one in five workers experiences it. In 2022 alone, 1.6 million workers in the Netherlands reported burnout, costing employers approximately 3.3 billion euros. Nuthan’s response to this crisis was to design The Happiness Tour, an experiential modality that not only addresses burnout but also builds long-term resilience through engaging and restorative experiences.
The Happiness Tour consists of five different tours and fifty experiences that focus on well-being, sustainability, and community building. Not only do these tours offer profound benefits to participants, but 50% of the fees go back to supporting the local economy and promoting eco-conscious activities aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It’s an approach that encapsulates Nuthan’s belief that wellness and social responsibility can and should go hand-in-hand.
Throughout her career, Nuthan has remained deeply committed to social impact. Her work has been widely recognized, and many of her projects have become case studies in both India and internationally.
For example, Anbodu Kochi, a community-driven flood relief effort, raised over 4 crores for flood relief during the Chennai floods in 2016. Recognized by the UNDP as a Global Best Practice, Anbodu Kochi is just one example of how Nuthan’s work merges social good with innovative wellness interventions. Another prominent initiative, Pedal Kochi, helped increase event participation by an astounding 2000%, transforming Kochi into one of the most participative cities in India.
Additionally, Nuthan spearheaded Nirbhaya, a mind-body intervention for survivors of sexual assault, in collaboration with the Women and Child Ministry. This program supported 300 survivors, including 50 differently-abled participants, and offered them a holistic path to healing.
As a consultant for high-profile organizations, Nuthan also uses her expertise to help companies improve employee engagement, reduce burnout, and foster positive workplace cultures. Through her interventions, she addresses workplace well-being from a systemic perspective, helping teams build resilience, motivation, and the mental clarity needed to perform at their best.
Entrepreneurship, however, is never without its challenges. Nuthan’s personal struggles, particularly as an introverted researcher with little prior entrepreneurial experience, meant she had to learn many of the essential business skills—finance, sales, and operations—from scratch. There were many times when she questioned her decisions and wondered if she had what it took to succeed.
It was during these tough times that Nuthan drew strength from her mentors, including Prof. Sunil Handa, her mentor at IIM Bangalore’s NSRCEL, who helped guide her through her entrepreneurial journey. The support of this network was critical to her ability to overcome challenges and grow both personally and professionally.
Her appearance as a finalist on Shark Tank India Season 1 was another milestone that marked her growth as an entrepreneur. Despite facing skepticism about her non-traditional approach, Nuthan pushed through her fears and embraced the opportunity to scale her business and reach more people.
Ultimately, Nuthan’s resilience and commitment to her vision have been key factors in her success. Through it all, she has remained committed to her personal mantra: “Wellness That Works.”
As Nuthan’s company continues to grow, the future looks bright for Me Met Me. Her vision for expanding The Happiness Tour to other locations in Europe, including the UK and Austria, reflects her ongoing commitment to addressing the global mental health crisis. Through continued partnerships with corporations and social impact organizations, Nuthan aims to create a ripple effect of wellness that will benefit individuals, communities, and organizations alike.
