According to Vahan data, October saw over 70,000 two-wheeler electric vehicle (EV) registrations in India, with Ola Electric leading the pack with over 20,000 registrations. This is a significant increase from the 30,000 two-wheeler EV registrations in September, and it is a sign that the Indian EV market is growing rapidly.

Ola Electric’s success is due to a number of factors, including its competitive pricing, its wide range of products, and its strong marketing presence. The company is also benefiting from the government’s push to promote EVs in India.

Other two-wheeler EV manufacturers that performed well in October include Hero Electric, Ampere Electric, and Ather Energy. Hero Electric registered over 10,000 units in October, Ampere Electric registered over 8,000 units, and Ather Energy registered over 7,000 units.

The growth of the two-wheeler EV market is being driven by a number of factors, including:

  • Rising fuel prices: Fuel prices have been rising steadily in India over the past few years, and this is making EVs more attractive to consumers.
  • Government incentives: The Indian government is offering a number of incentives to promote EVs, such as subsidies and tax breaks.
  • Increasing awareness: Consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the benefits of EVs, such as their lower operating costs and their environmental benefits.

The two-wheeler EV market is expected to continue to grow rapidly in the coming years. According to a report by Mordor Intelligence, the Indian two-wheeler EV market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 44.1% from 2022 to 2028.
