The Admirable Entrepreneur
Amit Chakrabarti- Owner, SAICON HARDWARE
Amit Chakrabarti, hailing from Kolkata, began his 13 years entrepreneurial journey (till date), by deciding to drop out the high school to quench his thirst for business, and incepted- ‘SAICON HARDWARE’– India’s leading Upvc windows and doors related product manufacturers & suppliers. The initial years of his venture had never been just about making money, rather, for him, it was the accumulated application of knowledge that he was taking from various sources every day, which he desires to leverage further for the betterment of society.
He perceives his father as his very first inspiration, whom he finds as the most sincere, punctual and hardworking person. He shares how his father, who has worked in a multinational company, amiably used to tell him stories about the innovative ideas the company leverages to scale up their business.
“I always used to get fascinated by what my father said and could listen to him for hours without getting bored”, Amit adds.
He also looks up to ‘Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’ and ‘Baba Ramdev’ for his share of inspiration to work harder.
He immensely believes that it’s not just about him but every person has their own set of problems in life, which are relatively bigger in their own way.
“But if we keep ourselves disciplined, focused and calm, no matter how big the problem is, it will eventually fade away. So it’s better not to talk about our unending list of problems as it only invites negativity”, Amit asserts.
He talks about the risks he undertook during his venture by stating, “When we were trying our hands in designing the Portable Upvc window & door machine, we halted all our running business operations to categorically focus on this invention, and while creating something that had never been done before, the risk involved was infinite.
“But eventually the hard work of 6 months paid off and we succeeded remarkably”, he avers.
He recalls that when they look back, they strongly feel that they did the virtuous deed.
“If we have not done that then, the focus would not have been this extreme”, the admirable entrepreneur, Amit Chakrabarti asserts.
He insists, “Keep reading more and more… If you are up for something and keep yourselves updated about what’s happening around the world, in any case, you will be ready for the quests ahead”.
Adding further, “To keenly identify opportunities, one should be adaptable to novel scenarios in business and keep enriching his or her pool of knowledge”, he shares.
Amit wittily shares, “Well, I don’t know whether I am unique or not, but I strictly adhere to a few things in my life- ‘Commitment’, ‘Honestly’, ‘Hard work’ and ‘Knowledge”.
