A fitness freak since early days and inclined towards sports and martial Arts, the founder of ‘SMART Universal Academy’, Dr. Narengbam Samarjit Singh was born in Sagolband Tera Loukrakpam Leikai, Imphal, Manipur. The Chairman and Managing Director of 14 companies under ‘SALAI Holdings Private Limited’, based in Manipur, India and 3 overseas companies, he is supervising the administration, management and operations of different companies since 2009. Having an extensive interest in reading and socializing, Dr .Narengbam Samarjit Singh is an adventurous person who has excelled in academics as well. The double graduate, one from Manipur and another from Kerala, and the Master in Social Work (MSW) from Arunachal Pradesh, he has been conferred with an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities by National America University.
The multi-award winner Educationist is felicitated with ‘India Education Awards 2019’ for his school- ‘SMART Universal Academy (The School of the Future Manipur), under the category of ‘Best Digital School ‘ with CSR Initiative in Manipur, 2019. He is the member of ‘Indo-Japan Chamber of Commerce & Industries’ and ‘International Council of CCLP Worldwide’, which promotes Education Charter International among the youths of the community to develop the individual’s approach towards ‘Higher Education for Sustainable Better livelihood”.
Award recipient of “Mahatma Gandhi Samman Award”, House of Common, London, Dr. Dr. Narengbam Samarjit Singh is also the honorary Ambassador of ‘World Council of CCLP World Wide’ and state co-coordinator of ‘India redefined- the movement’. He founded ‘SMART Universal Academy’ under Smart Society with the solitary goal of imparting quality education for the long forgotten marginalized people of Manipur with the vision- “The School of the future Manipur”. Located in an extremely underdeveloped remote area of Manipur, his school envisions imparting underprivileged students their right to education, and has been conferred with ‘India Education Excellence Award- 2019, felicitated by Integrated Achievers.
He looks up to Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen and Dr. Abdul Kalam for their multi-faceted personality and immense contributions and towards Society and Education. He is awarded with ‘Industry Development’ for ‘SALAI Agro Products Pvt. Ltd’ at ‘12th International Achievers Summit’, Dubai, UAE. He shares his struggles while establishing his dream project, by reflecting that non-cooperation and lack of interest of the government institutions, banks and other bodies in trying to help or ameliorate the underprivileged sections of our society, which urged him to bring about the much needed change in the society. He shares, “Right to education, although glorified as a fundamental right, remains a utopian dream in the absence of the institutions”. He considers convincing the parents and students of a much better life with quality of education at the most backward areas of Manipur, as most challenging for him except arranging finances for commencing the school.
The award winner of Achievers’ World Leadership Award” on the occasion of “5th Eurasian Economic Congress & 10th India-Russia Business Dialogue, Moscow, for SALAI Agro Product Pvt. Ltd, is zealous towards bringing a drastic change in Manipur by bestowing education to underprivileged, employment to youths and contributing to the economy of Manipur, which arises to be the most unique traits of this Educationist.
He has bagged an award- “SME Empowering India Awards 2018” under the category Food, Agro & Horticulture Products, representing SALAI Agro Products Pvt. Ltd at SME Empowering Ceremony. He has also participated as a delegate in Joint Consultative Meeting with China’s Country Garden at Malaysia and has been an award recipient for ‘Emerging Company’ for “Outstanding Achievements in Business and Social Service” on the occasion of the “44th Indian Achievers Award, Delhi”.
