Seema Purwar, Founder- POMONA
A dreamer, an achiever and a passionate woman, Seema Purwar, who is the founder of ‘POMONA Café’, is a Computer Science Engineer by education and has worked as Senior Scientific Officer at ‘Bhabha Atomic Research Centre.’ Carrying an extensive 15 years of experience in the Software Industry, Seema found her calling in the Food Industry, which was a sweet result of her leisure trip to Mahabaleshwar, where her entrepreneurial spirit encouraged her to commence her own venture.
She credits her husband, Avinash Purwar for Pomona’s inception, who is also the co-founder of her dream project that envisions spreading happiness through delicious, hygienic and healthy food. Seema owes her café Pomona’s success to her parents.
Considering ‘Tata’ as an inspirational brand for her, Seema foresees for her brand ‘Pomona’ to be identified as a synonym of trustworthiness, and aspires to syndicate Pomona as the best place for relishing food, the same way people trusts Tata.
Seema gratifies, “Life has been kind enough to me and I have always been blessed with support from my family”. 
Recalling her struggling period she admits that she never thought twice to carry boxes for her strawberry trade, all by herself and feels proud of herself for carving a niche for herself in the market.
Seema, a diligent software engineer also worked from home for quite some time and was awarded as “Star performer’ for her work in the company, but eventually dropped her job to fully venture into her cafe ‘POMONA‘. She initiated her journey with a product- ‘strawberry cream’, which is an authentic food commodity available in Mahabaleshwar only.
“I brought that strawberry cream to people’s doorsteps for which they had to visit Mahabaleshwar, she chuckles. And eventually café ‘POMONA’ went along with offering the full continental cuisines.
Affirming that each person is unique in their own way, Seema admits that her uniqueness lies in her commitment and hard work. “Once I decide on something, I get totally devoted to it with whole heart and soul”, says Seema with a smile.
