Owner of Decor Rich Interiors (www.decor-rich.com), Himani Gandotra is a Postgraduate Professional Interior Designer from INIFD, with a flair for creativity. Hailing from a small town, Himani always had big dreams to chase. Her journey as a Designer started with her start-up “Sakar Interiors” in her hometown in which Himani’s father supported her from all ends. Adding to her portfolio were Government projects like Handloom showrooms, Airport lounges apart from private residential projects. Himani’s never-give-up attitude toward her passion gave her opportunities to work with renowned designers from Gurugram after her marriage, gaining experience for more than a decade.

Two years back, Himani decided to start her venture. Her design concepts and technical know-how are her strong pillars of strength. Designing residences and commercial spaces with a pocket-friendly budget is the company’s USP. Her area of expertise is designing the space as per the requirement and lifestyle of the client and enhancing it further with a little flavour of her own. Himani has been running her business successfully in Delhi/NCR for 2 years and in PAN India for the last 6 months.

Himani’s specialization is Modular Kitchen in which her team provides high-end quality finished and suitable material for kitchens, along with modern accessories best fitted for well-organized and stylish kitchens.

Kitchens are considered as the heart and soul of the house. Keeping this in mind, the team always designs kitchens which are best in functionality and user friendly too. Efficient use of corners, zero space wastage and maximum utility, proper space for appliances, proper lighting, and assigning proper space to specific areas like wet areas, cooking and core working area, are their focus areas while planning and designing modular kitchens.

Their USP, as mentioned earlier, is Budget-friendly Designs which are designed for the needs and requirements of clients keeping in mind the aesthetics and functionality of the space available. In a crux, their focus and USP is a maximum utility with zero wastage.

From the very beginning when she was studying, Himani aspired to be an entrepreneur and build her name in the profession. So, she worked with many interior firms to gain on-the-job experience by being in the field. When she bought her house, at that time she felt the need for designs which are budget-friendly and at the same time look aesthetically luxurious too. That was the trigger for Himani to start her firm Décor Rich Interiors and solve the design problems of the homeowners who dreamt of luxurious living.

Talking about struggles and problems, they are always there. The only thing that makes a difference is how you look upon them. Being an extrovert, Himani always took problems with open hands and tried to find solutions for them. Struggles always provide you with the best learning. A major challenge in her field is to handle labor in trying to get the final output. She’s been able to eliminate all such problems with the help and support of her family.

Himani’s never giving up the spirit and her passion for her work are what make her unique as an entrepreneur. She strongly believes in

“MAKE YOUR PASSION YOUR PROFESSION, YOU WILL NEVER WORK A SINGLE DAY”.

According to Himani, the client’s psychology and requirements play a vital role in Design development. The basis of every design is the client’s preferences, choices and requirements which the team has to develop and incorporate in their homes as their lifestyles. Himani’s greatest learning from her profession is her eye for detail, patience, and self-confidence. With a combination of these, everything eventually falls into place.

Advice from Himani to budding entrepreneurs is to

stay focused and never give up on your vision and dreams. But surely work hard to get the desired knowledge and skills for the same. Design every home like it’s yours.
