Dr. Priya Gaddgi – MD & Treasurer, Vasantha Group of Institutions
Through her institute this doctor wants to train and create professional nurse, so as to serve humanity at healthcare service centres.
Established in 1994, by Chandrakant Gaddgi and Chinamma Gaddgi, Vasantha Group of Institutions took up the responsibility in helping students to develop a pride in their nursing profession besides keeping them abreast with current knowledge and profession trends for a successful career ahead. Today Dr Priya Gadggi is successfully taking forward the legacy and thereby providing quality education to the aspirants in the field of Nursing science and technology.
Radiologist by profession, Priya completed MBBS followed by MD in Radiology. However, since her childhood days she observed her parents work for the institute and grew a keen interest in running the same when she grows up. In fact she got involved at her capacity at that young age too. It is their vision of starting a Nursing school and college in North Karnataka region, which is now in safe hands of their daughter. Though there was initial hiccups of seeking approvals, rejections, infrastructure, quality faculty and finances; everything eventually fell in place with the sheer focus and persistence. Steadily Vasantha Group of institute started improving the education scenario of Gulbarga and Bidar region.
Imparting education can never be pure form of business but entrepreneurial skills are a must to run such institutes. As an educationist, Priya believes that “I am a firm believer that education conquers everything, we are giving our best to contribute to improve health care services in India through nursing education.” She is also a Consultant radiologist and attached to a couple of hospitals. She efficiently balances her profession, home and institutes with ease and acts an inspiration to today’s working women.
Since, nurses are an integral part of healthcare services and forms the backbone of both primary as well as tertiary care; training and creating efficient workforce to serve the industry is what her institute aims for. Her institute teaches and imparts both theoretical and practical knowledge par excellence for serving humanity.
Her parents have been her inspiration throughout her entrepreneurial journey. She had seen them fall, struggle and rise, which was also inculcated within her. Priya is also a keen follower of Swami Vivekananda’s learnings and likewise she aims to manifest a perfect life through education.
Been conferred with “Mrs Philanthropist 2017” along with “Mrs India Charming South 2016”, she has been awarded as the “Best Financial Planner of 2018”. She has been efficiently multitasking and manages a balanced life – discipline, dedication, and determination is what makes her strong even during the bumpy ride of entrepreneurship. The fact that non-professionals mostly manage the nursing jobs in hospitals, made her jump into the bandwagon of entrepreneurship and offer training with good communication skills to serve this sector professionally and ethically.
She feels that the biggest risk or challenge is to sustain in the word of nepotism, where every step taken ahead needs determination because there is always a rejection. But one should be optimistic and never lose hope in the process of achieving the main objective of serving mankind.
