Mrs. Vijita Chavan, living in Mumbai, has been nominated “The Best French Teacher In Mumbai.” According to her, teaching has always been a passion for her, and she wanted to pursue it as a career. However, her fascination with the French language, in particular, has driven her in a way to choose it as a career option.
After she had her first baby, she decided to join the “Alliance Français,” the most reputed institution, to complete her master’s degree in French, which she passed with great marks! Although her journey was not smooth, she had to balance both her education and home, as she was married and had a toddler at home. Regardless she did a great job, and she takes complete pride in it.
The institute was a 2hrs journey from home that she had to travel. She has gone overboard or, as she expresses,
“burn the midnight oil and learn the language along with the responsibilities I had to shoulder, taking care of my home and my little baby.”
The conclusion, however, put her in awe of what she had accomplished. She was surprised that she actually fulfilled her dreams.
Today, she proudly claims that she is the source of “Inspiration” in her family; she has made generous contributions towards the society and trained several aspirants for French Study abroad. Hence, she wants to be a reminder to you and let you know that age is not something you should fear when you are passionate about your dreams. Go on, live your life. She also wants everyone to learn French as it is the most sought-out language of it all. And you get to know a new culture in the world.
Lastly, a quote she said by A.P.J Abdul Kalam that we all agree with, ‘A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination and Instill a love of learning. Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, caliber, and future of an individual. If the people remember me as a good teacher, that will be the biggest honor for me’.
