Logistics as a segment itself is very male dominated and Vishakha has broken the stereotypes by successfully running Venus Logistics. It has also been one of her greatest challenge to make a mark in the industry as a female. Backed with her own beliefs, her family’s trust and husband’s confidence, she started her venture in a foreign land. She had put in her all hard earned saving behind Venus Logistics and this itself made her stronger to work diligently so that she can succeed as a businesswoman.
Being an entrepreneur was accidental for Vishakha. It was never planned, but being laid off from her previous company instigated the idea of starting her venture and be her own boss. That’s when her experience in the sector came into play. And with transportation industry pegged at 13 billion dollar industry in the USA, it is an opportunity which Venus Logistics wants to capitalise.
When asked about her success mantra, Vishakha candidly confesses “People around me are my inspiration. I learn from them how they overcome various obstacles in life through mere determination, talent and hard work.” However, the American media person and philanthropist, Oprah Winfrey, has always been her inspiration and idol.
Hailed from a humble family from Rajasthan, Vishakha grew up in Vapi before heading to Baroda for her higher studies and got married in her late teens. At the age of nineteen she took responsibility of her family and with her husband moved into USA in 2007. Today she is happily managing her family and taking up the key responsibility of her business at ease and guiding it to new peaks.
As a person, she is very careful of not repeating her mistakes, but learn from it and take up new challenges head on. She learns from her failure and remains ready to accept a new day with new challenges. This indomitable characteristic helps her to sail smoothly through the rough waves of entrepreneurial journey.
It was her mid-career hiccups that sparked off her entrepreneurial expedition. Her vision to create and showcase her managerial stature, helped her to excel in the field of logistics and transportation. And since logistics is a booming industry, she envisaged a huge opportunity in the category. Vishakha also feels that her risk taking capabilities and believing on herself made a huge difference as an entrepreneur. Even though Venus Logistics had a rollercoaster ride, it has successfully sailed through and created happy customers by breaking the barriers of stereotypes.
