The Educationalist Set To Provide International Standards Of Education And Sports
Mr. Milind Bhatkande – President, Gajanan Rao Bhatkande School
Carrying forward the heritage of the great educationalist and philanthropist Gajanan Rao Bhatkande from Belgaum, his son is taking the school to new levels at International arena.
The legacy of Bhatkande High School has been passed to the next president in 2000, to Milind Bhatknde who graced the campus with a vibrant phenomenon, and since then the institution is repeatedly proven successful in academics, sports or other co-curricular activities. With an aim to impart excellent education which can bring about all round development in the student and enable them to be self-sufficient, this high school in Belgaum is implementing progressive methodologies to create future citizens.
Though created in 1970, the school under the able leadership of Milind now comprises of 2000 students and 60 staff members. In 2005-06 the institution was elevated with the permission to start PU-College in all the three streams of Humanities, Commerce and Science. So now the Institution comprises of KG to SSLC and Pre-university classes – an achievement guided by the strong visionary of Milind. He brought in rapid progress in all spheres of education with his young and dynamic thought process.
Apart from academics, the introduction of sports, yoga, Rotary club, karate etc into the curriculum brings in new dimension to the students’ overall growth. As an educationist, he has been giving free admissions to the needy students. There are orphans at the school and college to whom free education is being provided. Under able leadership of Milind, the institute has been awarded ‘British Council’ for best academic project presentation. With a great infrastructure in place, the students have won prizes in skating and Yoga at State and National levels.
Milind never shied away from taking challenges. And that has been a character of a successful entrepreneur. He had to face challenge carrying forward the baton from his father. But his great management skills have made that transition process seamless. He invested time, energy and money into this venture which has a noble mission to impart quality education to the next generation.
It was his childhood dream and passion that sparked off this entrepreneurial journey. Drawing inspiration from his philanthropist father, Milind always wanted to flourish in the educational sector. And since his graduation, he started building it alongside. Today he is in the process of launching an International School, in order to provide a world class education to the people of Karnataka. As a simple, down to earth person, he believes in maintaining good relationship with everybody and that would pay off later. The vision to transform this country through youth transformation helped him to launch the mission of bringing revolution to this education industry.
With a vision to make it big in sports, the management helped to represent football matches at UK & Island. Even cricket tours were conducted to England for the students to get a taste of International standards in the area of sports.
